The last time the club played at our National Stadium was 1988,lifting the Welsh Brewers cup against Forgeside Rfc.
Now we see ourselves with most probably the sternest test this season, against Ynysybwl in the Quarter finals.
The Bwl are also having a good season, and are currently top of Division 1 East with us in 3rd place 11 points behind with 3 games in hand.
The last time we met was last October, when we run out winners 32-12,I am sure that result will be no reflection on this Saturdays game, with the Bwl seeking revenge.
With Bedlinog being in the Swalec plate Quarter Finals,Silver Ball Quarter Finals ( 6th April Glynneath) and contenders for the league title, there are alot of fixtures still to complete.
But with a strong Squad and the developement side, just 2 points behind Brecon in the league and a Cup Final to play in April, the players are fit enough to cope with the demands of 2 games a week.
Also the coaching staff having done an amazing job this season, developing players and adopting an exciting brand of rugby.
Our Ladies team are still in the Quater finals of the Super Cup, and are currently 4th in a tough Division 2 after being promoted Champions of Divison 3 last year.
So a quick round up of this weeks fixtures are -
1st Team Ynysybwl Away 2:30pm ko
Developement Cefn Coed Home 2:30 pm ko
Vixens Gorseinon away Sunday 2:30pm ko
Also Sunday we have live music at the club from 5pm with the Pitchforks and 7pm John Adams from the X Factor,so come and join us for a great Bank Holiday Weekend.
I would like to wish all our teams good luck for the weekend, and hope you all come out to support our sides.
Hope you all have a Happy Easter
Paul Yoxall
Chairman Bedlinog Rfc.
